Roadside Photography Presentation and Group Photography Outing Update

Just before the Covid Pandemic hit in 2020, I was in the process of some photography-changing decisions. I decided to pivot my photography and teaching in a more defined direction. I transitioned from the traditional classroom environment to teach one-on-one sessions online. I also struggled with a moniker for my photography, none of the normal labels seem to fit what I saw my work to be and what I wanted it to evolve into.

Ironically, Roadside Photography was the last class I taught at Crealde School of Art. It was a workshop that I developed and routed to share stops that I found interesting. The title felt like the right fit for my work and my photography story (and maybe a book to come). My Roadside Photography became strongly rooted in the DNA of my work.

I have wrapped up my virtual classes and look forward to focusing on expanding my roadside work, a book, and this upcoming presentation. I am thrilled to revive my group photography outings to help other photographers expand on their journey down the road and share my love for roadside scenes.

Roadside Photography Presentation

I am honored to discuss images from the road, excerpts from my work on Roadside Photography, on November 13th for the Orlando Camera Club at the Marks Street Center. I would encourage anyone that has been looking or interested in joining an active and versatile photography club (full of super nice people) to join us on November 13th as a guest and consider joining the OCC family!

My upcoming presentation at the Orlando Camera Club will focus on those inspirations as well as how I define my own work. As you can imagine, it’s less about the destination and all about the journey. For me, it is less of a fork in the road than it is a roundabout that joins my love of documentary, street, and cultural landscapes.

The road has much to offer from abandoned structures, landscapes, and the whimsical charm of small town America. Join us as we embark on a journey to discover the unexpected beauty of roadside scenes. Roadside photographer, Sherri Bunye will share the origin story for her own photography passion, while examining composition techniques and creative expression tools to explore the art of visual storytelling and enhance your own photography journey.
